Jackson County is a county located in the U.S. state of South Dakota. Washabaugh County was merged into Jackson County in 1983. ==Geography== According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of , of which is land and (0.4%) is water. About 57 percent of its land, the portion south of the White River, is on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. The county includes the easternmost portion of Badlands National Park.
